  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2017 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited With Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar
  • There are a bunch of parts needed to flat tow your 2017 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited so I can understand it can get a little confusing, but I'll make a list for you of the parts that you need to tow it with your Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520. I will assume you have the standard factory bumper on your '17 Wrangler JK Unlimited, as you did not specify otherwise: - Base Plate Kit: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-5 - Safety Chains: Roadmaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled...

  • Removing Roadmaster Invisibrake Supplemental Braking From One Vehicle to Install on Another
  • Because you are removing the Roadmaster Invisibrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700 from your 2004 Jeep Wrangler, you will need to seal up the vacuum line on your 2004 Wrangler. You can do this a couple of different ways. You can leave the T-connector and then add a bolt and hose clamp to seal the hose or you can remove the T-connector and use a coupler and two hose clamps to seal the hose. The latter is my recommendation for a cleaner fix and you can use the check valve already...

  • Recommended Brake Controller and Wiring for 2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ
  • For your 2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ, I recommend you use the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 for your trailer brake controller. This is a proportional controller that is easy to use and comes with the LCD screen requiring no code deciphering as well as preset boost options to make it easy to set for your trailer. For your wiring, you will need to first have a 4-way harness if you don't already have one. For this I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector #...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited with Standard Bumper
  • We have just want you need. The correct Roadmaster base plate for your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited is the Roadmaster EZ4 part # RM-521448-4 which is confirmed as a fit. This will work great with your Falcon 2 part # RM-520 tow bar. If you needed lighting you could use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle....

  • Locking Pin Set for Curt C45900 Channel Style Height Adjustable Ball Mount
  • Curt does indeed offer a lock set specifically designed for their channel style adjustable ball mounts like the # C45900 you'd earlier purchased. I'd recommend the # C23556 which includes a keyed alike hitch lock and a locking pin that would take the place of one of the height adjustment pins. The locking adjustment pin has a 4-1/4 inch span, so it will accommodate the width of the ball mount with no problem as you can see in the linked video.

  • Is There a Chart For Inflating Firestone Air Bags F2286
  • Thanks so much for the purchase from etrailer of the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Bags # F2286! There is not a chart of any kind, no. You really do just have to toy around with the air pressure to find the right setting (which is admittedly a bit of a pain). But it does sound like you may be inflating them too much, as too much pressure can lead to a stiffer ride and some bouncing. So I'd try backing off the psi a bit, maybe 5 psi at a time, until you find the setting that's best for your ride.

  • Trailer Wiring for 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  • Since you have the factory tow package on your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install 7-Way Trailer Connector # HM42190 will be an easy installation. The plug will be just behind the bumper and I've attached photos to assist with the vehicle side plug you will look for that will be on the driver's side. If you have a 4-way trailer connector, it may have been installed by the dealer and will connect behind the tail light on the driver's side. If this is the...

  • Brake Light Relay Recommendation for 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited Being Flat Towed
  • We have a brake light relay part # RM-88400 which is designes for your exact situation and is recommended when using the Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR with a bulb-socket style tow bar wiring kit like part # RM-155-2 that you referenced. This would be your best option and would not require you to pull fuses for the brake lights which would only take out the third brake light anyway.

  • Adapter to Use to Flat Tow 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK with ReadyBrute Elite Tow Bar
  • We only have one adapter that works with the base plate kits we offer that can also be used with a ReadyBrute Elite tow bar. For that you'd need the Blue Ox adapter part # BX88297 and then a Blue Ox base plate kit installed on your 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited like the # BX1126 which fits the standard bumper for your vehicle. If you have a different bumper on your Jeep follow the link I attached on this page that has all of the different Blue Ox options we carry. You'll need to select...

  • Compatibility of Roadmaster RM-035-1 D-Ring Adapters with Nighthawk Tow Bar
  • The Roadmaster # RM-035-1 D-ring adapters are indeed compatible with a Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar. However, because you aren't using traditional base plates, you might have difficulty finding a good spot to attach the safety cables. In this situation, Roadmaster recommends using extensions like # RM-910648-20. You'd want to wrap the extension around the frame members just behind the bumper then attach to the safety cables. If you decide to use the tow bar for a different vehicle,...

  • Flat Tow Parts for 2018 Jeep Sahara Wrangler Unlimited
  • You can tell just by looking if you have a JK or JL. The JL has bigger fender flares and the front blinkers have been moved from the grill to the flares. The JL tail lights look like they have a squeezed belt line in the middle of them rather than just square. I suppose you could also contact your dealer with your VIN number to have them advise that way. Having the Falcon tow bar and Brake Buddy is a good start! Now you just need the Roadmaster # RM-9243-1 Towing Kit that includes safety...

  • Does Brake Controller Installed on Trailer Require Blue Wire to Be Connected on Tow Vehicle
  • Since your trailer already has a brake controller on it you shouldn't need to connect the blue wire from the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter with Backup Alarm # C57102 so you should be able to just cap it off and be fine. I say "should" because any brake controller I've seen that installs on the trailer only requires the standard light functions along with the 12V power. If you can confirm what brake controller you have then I can double check the installation.

  • Can 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited Tailgate Swing Open with Slide-Out Cargo Carrier Installed
  • The Lets Go Aero Slide-Out Cargo Carrier # H01472 measures 29 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest art of the carrier when it is slid all the way out. This will allow you to open the rear tail gate of your 2018 Jeep Wrangler a decent amount but is probably not enough for it to swing all the way open.

  • Tip for Finding Stoplight Circuit of 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for Installing Brake Controller
  • The stoplight circuit you need to run to the red wire of the Tow Pro Elite part # RED44FR will not be found at the rear trailer wiring connector as the stoplight circuit is combined with the turn signals like you mentioned. So what you'll need to do is use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires that run to the brake pedal switch behind your brake pedal until you find a circuit that has voltage only when the brakes are applied. This would be the easiest place to...
